In this two sessions workshop participants will explore the basic principles of creating a drypoint on plexiglass by cutting, abrading, scratching and/or gouging the surface. Drypoint is an intaglio print process similar to etching, but more direct, without the use of etching chemicals. A variety of ways to wipe and print the plate to achieve successful prints, will be explored. Next, using the the drypoint plate as a repeatable matrix participants will experiment with possible ways of manipulating the image, including collagraph, monotype, and hand coloring to create a sequence of related but endless varying prints. No prior printing experience necessary. $10.00 supply fee for plexiglass and print paper. Ink is supplied.
